- Carousel Theatre in Vancouver, B.C. is offering a “Junior Drag Camp” for ages 7 to 11 and a “Teen Drag Camp” for ages 12 to 17 in July. The advertisement reads:
“Join some of Vancouver’s most amazing drag artists and learn how drag can brighten up your life! You might be wondering, is drag for kids? Drag is for everyone!”
- Rep. Leigh Finke, 41, who was chosen as an honoree on USA Today’s Woman of the Year list, despite being male, is discovered to have been involved in the production of two books about gender identity: Queerfully and Wonderfully Made: A Guide for LGBTQ+ Christian Teens, and Welcoming and Affirming. A quote from Queerfully reads: “If your parents do not accept you and your queerness, then they do not know what’s best for you… Just because they love you does not mean they know what is best for you,” and asserts that minors should “limit contact with any adult” who do not affirm their “queerness.”
- In light of the Convenant School shooting, Madonna announces a concert in Nashville to raise money for “trans rights” groups. Her website reads:
“With anti-LGBTQ+ legislation passing in Tennessee and other states, longtime social activist Madonna announced an additional stop on her The Celebration Tour in Nashville on December 22nd. A portion of proceeds from the show will go to trans rights organizations. In regard to the over 100 anti-LGBTQ+ bills currently before state legislatures.”
