On Saturday, #GIDYVR hosted its third event in a series of panels focused on discussing gender identity ideology and legislation. This time, the topic was “How media bias shapes the gender identity debate.”
The panel featured myself; Jonathan Kay, an editor for Quillette who has worked for The National Post, the CBC, and The Walrus; and Anna Slatz, a writer at The Post Millennial who was one of the few Canadians to cover the Jessica Yaniv human rights tribunal scandal, and secured exclusive interviews with young women who allege Yaniv preyed upon them when they were underage. The panel was moderated by free speech advocate and writer, Lindsay Shepherd.
After losing our venue at Simon Fraser University last minute, the event took place instead in the Crystal Pavilion at Vancouver’s Pan Pacific Hotel. Protesters gathered outside, but were not able to disrupt the event.
