PODCAST: Resistance is a woman — Lee Lakeman on collectivity, liberation and the feminist movement

On June 21, 2014, women and male allies gathered to honour and celebrate Lee Lakeman and her tireless work to end male violence against women. Lee has been an integral part of Vancouver Rape Relief & Women’s Shelter since the late 70s. She retired from her position there in 2013 but has not retired from the movement. Lee addressed collectivity; resistance; woman-centered sex; the intersection of race supremacy, class supremacy, and male supremacy; and the past and future of the feminist movement in a talk she gave last year at her retirement celebration. The event, recorded in Vancouver, was called, “Resistance is a Woman.”
