- XVideos, one of the largest pornography platforms online, will be investigated by Czech authorities for its role in enabling sexual abuse and the exploitation of children.
- A petition in South Korea calling for harsher sentences for perpetrators of deepfake pornography gathered over a quarter of a million signatures over a weekend. Research on deepfake technology reveals that 96 per cent of all deepfake content (of which 100 per cent is of women) uses images of women without their consent, and nearly a third of women featured are South Korean celebrities.
- A plan to confront human trafficking drafted by New Zealand policymakers neglected issues specific to women, instead focusing on forms of labour trafficking that mainly impact men. The strategy failed to address sexual exploitation altogether, a crime that overwhelmingly impacts women and girls.
- A 63-year-old Thai woman was arrested and sentenced to 43 years in prison under the charge of insulting the monarchy. The court initially sentenced her to 87 years, but reduced it after she pled guilty. The woman, known only as Anchan, posted audio clips from a podcast to social media without personal commentary.
- US adults aged 18-24 say that pornography is their main source of information about intercourse, according to a study conducted at Boston University.
